Your cottage has 2 double bedrooms, 1 twin bedroom and 1 single bedroom. There are 2 bathrooms, 1 with bath and shower and 1 with shower.
There are two cosy sitting rooms in which to unwind. The main sitting room has a multi-fuel stove ( fuel included ) for your comfort and there is a flat screen television, DVD and CD player. The smaller sitting room makes a lovely den for your children or other members of your party to relax in if they want some quiet time and has an electric heater. There is a large double-glazed conservatory with dining table and chairs as well as plenty of room for a sofa and armchair so you can relax and enjoy the views.
The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave and range style cooker, washing machine and tumble dryer.
The cottage is accessed via a private track and has ample parking . There is a garden and a paved patio area for you to enjoy with views over open countryside. In summer you can sit outside on the patio watching and listening to bats hunting for insects. On a clear night you have a wonderful view of the Milky Way as there is hardly any light pollution.
Part of our land is under stewardship and we are working closely with the RSPB to improve our land for and encourage larks and lapwings. This involves creating boggy areas and scrapes, using no fertilisers and not mowing. This has also encouraged more hares on our land. We also encourage other species of birds, you can see various nest boxes around the place, we leave older trees standing for nest sites and to encourage invertebrates and have left access open to the barns and other outbuildings for owls. We get lots of Little owls around the place, and they nest in the outbuildings and can give quite a shriek if startled! Tawny owls also roost in the outbuildings in winter.
Running alongside the property and accessed by wooden steps is a tree lined beck with trout. We are in the middle of planting more native trees and understorey species to encourage more wildlife. We have also left piles of logs to provide cover for small mammals and hibernation sites for amphibians and invertebrates. If you are lucky you may see Sika deer.
Children are welcome, but we ask they are closely supervised at all times when outside the property as this is a working farm.
Pets are welcome by arrangement with the owners.
If you wish to bring your horse, we have stabling available for up to four, with hay and straw provided, with DIY livery. Please contact us for more details. We are very close to Gisburn Forest and the Settle loop bridleway.
There is secure storage for bikes and an outside cycle washing area.
